Mary & Martha 18 Month Planner Review

Mary & Martha 18 Month Planner Review

"The Lord says I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you." Psalm 32:8

Every year I am on the search for a great planner and as a true creative, I love to try out different ones. I definitely have my favorites, but for the 2017-2018 year I wanted to give the Mary & Martha planners a try. I am a huge fan of this faith-based home accessory company, not only do I love their farmhouse inspired home decor but I love the mission of the company to help women love and bless other women while spreading the love of God through Christ.

So, if you are new to Mary & Martha and would love to hear about their first year launching a planner, stick around as I walk you through my experience so far from beginning to end. Let’s get started!

Mary & Martha has many fun items in their stationary collection and with this year being their first to enter the planner market, they offered only two different styles, both of them are 18-month planners. One very feminine one with Hello Hope and the other, a more whimsical design with bicycles and Adventure On cover that also matches other items in this collection.

I was not overly excited about either of these styles but I am very particular when it comes to graphics and colors. I am hoping for more simple, minimalistic designs in the future but I also have to keep in mind that how the planner functions on the inside is as equally important.

I went with the Hello Hope planner and let me just say that it's much prettier in person, I was very pleasantly surprised when I opened the box at the gold embossing, vibrant colors, metal corner protectors and gold metallic elastic band closure. Simple with a touch of sophistication.

FIRST IMPRESSIONS

My first impression only deepens as I open the 9"L × 8 ½" hardcover to take a peek inside. I love that it's a spiral planner and the hardcover protects the binding on the inside. So many of the spiral bound planners I have used don't always hold up well so I love the added protection of the hardcover around the spiral bound pages.

I love the creative expression found throughout this planner, from the colorful printed paper, to cheerful graphics like pineapples and palm leaves (Hello Hope planner) to bold font changes and uplifting scriptures found throughout, this planner leaves me feeling full of joy every morning when I open it up to dive into my daily to-do list.

FEATURES

The front of the planner includes a 2017 and 2018 calendar and then moves right into the month of July including the full month at a glance and then each week is laid out with plenty of room to write a schedule and appointments. I love that the style lends itself to bullet journaling possibilities which I love so those of you who love to bullet journal will love the way the days of the week are arranged.

The back of the planner includes several blank pages for notes and reflections as well as 2017 and 2018 holidays and a 2019 calendar. The back of planner also has some nice extra bonuses including two sheets of peel off stickers labeled "church", "event", "family night", "dog appt", "friend time" and "haircut" as well as a full sheet of colored blank stickers that you can customize as needed finished with a two-sided thick piece of cardboard with pocket on both sides. I always love and appreciate this feature in a planner as there are a number of times that I can't transfer information directly into my planner so I love having a place where I can easily tuck it away for later.

The paper is light weight but thick enough that I have not had any issues with using my beloved Sharpie pens and them bleeding through. Those of you that are used to a thicker paper as found in the Erin Condren planner may not like the more lightweight feel of this paper but it's been fine for me thus far.

The price point of this planner is in the medium range as far as planners go coming in at $36.00. It's a very well made planner and design. Click HERE to view a lot more photos and check out the Hello Hope planner for yourself.

May God bless and watch over you, always xo
